Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer also known as S.O.A.P. is a way of studying scripture. These entries will provide a quick overview of scripture and offer a mechanism for studying the Word and prayer.
Scripture:
“Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of the devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and the table of devils.
Observation:
- You cannot serve two masters. You must make a decision about where Your loyalties lie.
- Cup and table refer to lifestyle. What you put in will determine what comes out.
Application:
I must be careful about what I allow into my spirit because it will reflect in my life. When I choose to serve God, I can’t allow the world to impact me.
Prayer:
Lord, I choose You as Lord of my life. While I live in the world, help me not to act like the world but You. In Jesus name, Amen.
