Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer, also known as S.O.A.P., is a way of studying scripture. These entries will provide a quick overview of scripture and offer a mechanism for studying the Word and prayer.
Scripture:
“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
Observation:
- God wants us to know that we have victory even when it seems like we failed or missed the mark. We achieved victory.
- Our work is not in vain in the Lord so we need to continue full speed ahead.
Application:
I stopped progressing so many times because I felt like I wasn’t accomplishing anything. I didn’t recognize the victory that God had already provided for me. Therefore, I must keep my eyes on God, and then I can move forward.
Prayer:
Lord, You help me to realize that You gave me everything I need for the assignment. Anytime I sense lack, it’s because I’ve moved my focus. Enable me to fully concentrate on You and all that You designed for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
