Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer also known as S.O.A.P. is a way of studying scripture. These entries will provide a quick overview of scripture and offer a mechanism for studying the Word and prayer.
Scripture:
“If I then your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.”
Observation:
- Although Jesus was Lord and Master, He humbled Himself and served.
- Jesus is our example.
Application:
I remember years ago someone asked me what would Jesus do, I responded and said that my name isn’t Jesus. What I missed at the time was that Jesus was the example. He didn’t have to do what He did, but He did it out of love. I don’t have to like it, but I should do it out of love.
Prayer:
Lord, You are the example and I’m Your child. Help me to remember all that You did just for me. In Jesus name, Amen.
