Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer, also known as S.O.A.P., is a way of studying scripture. These entries will provide a quick overview of scripture and offer a mechanism for studying the Word and prayer.

Scripture:

“And he said unto Jesus, ‘Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.’ And Jesus said unto him, ‘Verily I say unto thee. To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.'”

Observation:

Jesus saw the prisoner’s humility and sincerity and forgave him. This occurred because the prisoner acknowledged his wrongdoing and submitted himself unto Jesus.

Application:

I must lay everything out before God. He already knows, but He wants me to give it to Him. When I give, He responds.

Prayer:

Lord, I give everything to You. There’s so much going on inside of me. You alone an help me. I have tried people and they let me down. You are faithful and I seek You. Please lead, guide, and heal me. I need You now. In Jesus name, Amen.
