Slander and gossip — even when disguised as prayer requests or concern — create distance between you and the Lord. "who despises the vile but honors those who fear the LORD, who does not revise a costly oath,"
One of the most countercultural qualities in this verse is keeping your word even when it costs you something. God values the person who follows through on a commitment even when circumstances make it inconvenient or painful. This is a call to let your yes mean yes, trusting that God sees and honors your faithfulness even when no one else does.

"who lends his money without interest and refuses a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken."
The closing promise — that such a person 'will never be shaken' — is a tremendous anchor for the soul. God is saying that the person who builds their life on integrity and godly character will have a stability that the world simply cannot offer or take away.
