Naomi's recognition of Boaz as a kinsman-redeemer begins to pull back the curtain on God's sovereign plan unfolding behind the scenes. The Hebrew word for 'kindness' here is hesed — God's covenant steadfast love — and it is being expressed through a human being. Set aside time each day this week to consciously seek refuge under God's wings through prayer before you face the demands of the day. Begin each session by simply telling God where you feel exposed or overwhelmed, and ask Him to cover you with His hesed — His steadfast, covenant love.
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for the example of Ruth — that You honor faithfulness even in small and humble places, and that Your provision often comes in ways I could not have planned or predicted. Help me to step out in obedience today, even when the path ahead feels uncertain, trusting that Your eyes are on me and Your hand is already at work. Teach me to take refuge truly under Your wings, and open my eyes to see the hesed — the steadfast love — You are pouring into my life through the people and moments You have placed around me.
