"The coast will belong to the remnant of the house of Judah; there they will find pasture. They will lie down in the evening among the houses of Ashkelon, for the LORD their God will attend to them and restore their captives."
Even in a chapter full of judgment, God makes a promise of restoration for His faithful remnant. The phrase 'the LORD their God will attend to them' is deeply personal — God does not forget those who belong to Him. "This they shall have in return for their pride, for taunting and mocking the people of the LORD of Hosts."

"This carefree city that dwells securely, that thinks to herself: “I am it, and there is none besides me,” what a ruin she has become, a resting place for beasts. Everyone who passes by her hisses and shakes his fist."
The description of Nineveh's fall captures the ultimate end of self-sufficiency — a city that declared itself supreme is left in ruins. The boast that she is 'it, and there is none besides me' is a direct echo of language that belongs only to God, making Assyria's pride a form of idolatry. This is a call for you to examine where you may be trusting in your own strength or status rather than in God alone.
