Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer also known as S.O.A.P. is a way of studying scripture. These entries will provide a quick overview of scripture and offer a mechanism for studying the Word and prayer.
Scripture:
“Jesus answered and said unto her, “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.'”
Observation:
- Whosoever – It is available to anyone. We need only ask and God will supply it freely.
- Within him – Nothing outside as in no human means. What God places within him shall provide a continuous flow of water.
Application:
I’ve asked God for water and He supplied. At some point, I got off course, which stunted my flow. So now, I use the words of Phil Wickham and ask God “Spring up, O well, within my soul. Spring up, O well, and make me whole. Spring up, O well, and give to me. That life abundantly.”
Prayer:
Lord, I need the flood gates of the well to fly open and fill me again with purpose and life. I’ve gotten too focused on situations. Now, I need You, Lord, to revive the well within my soul. In Jesus name, Amen.
