Scripture – Observation – Application – Prayer also known as S.O.A.P. is a way of studying scripture. These entries will provide a quick overview of scripture and offer a mechanism for studying the Word and prayer.
Scripture:
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Observation:
- Press ~ push past, perseverance, going against the resistance, the opposite of doing nothing; intentional progression
- Mark ~ target, purpose, destiny, God’s will, the goal that is higher than yourself
Application:
- Develop an unyielding press to fulfill the hope of your calling and accomplish all that God has placed within you to do despite the odds and people
- There’s a destination that God designed for you before the beginning of time. Your job is to move in the direction that He is calling me without wavering.
Prayer:
Lord, keep the fire of the press burning ever so brightly within me. Help me to keep my eyes on You so I may attain the prize that is set before me. In Jesus name, Amen.
