Take A Position

The achievement of a dream or goal requires commitment. Though obstacles come, we must take a position of steadfastness. The threats of uncertainty bring fear and thoughts of retreat, but we can press forward in faith. Are we ready to take our position and fulfill the assignment of God?

The Story: 2 Chronicles 20:14-19

In 2 Chronicles 20:14-19, the Spirit of God used Jahaziel to prepare Judah for the upcoming battle. He told the people not to fear the advancing army for the battle belonged to God and not them. Therefore, they wouldn’t need to fight in the battle. They would take a position and stand and witness the salvation of the Lord. Again, he reaffirmed that they didn’t need to fear. Because God was with them, they could go to battle the next day. To prepare for what’s to come, the king and the inhabitants worshipped while the priests prayed.

The Lesson

Regardless of what we’re facing, we must determine our position. Do we believe or doubt? Are we walking in faith or fear? Will we pursue or stand still? Every decision requires us to take a position.

As we survey our dreams and the assignment of God, we can see the approaching problems. We can count all the things that could go wrong. However, this perspective leads to fear resulting in immobility. But if we set our attention on God, who gave us the dream and assignment, we can extinguish the fear and take a position of faith and pursue. We begin our forward march with praise and worship. Therefore, take a position and watch God work on your behalf.
