Acts 18 follows Paul as he arrives in Corinth, a bustling and morally complex city, where he meets Aquila and Priscilla — fellow tentmakers who become lifelong ministry partners (vv. 1-3). Beginning in verse 5, Paul's preaching intensifies after Silas and Timothy arrive, and when the Jews oppose him, he boldly declares he will turn his focus to the Gentiles. God meets Paul's discouragement with a personal night vision in verses 9-10, promising His presence and protection — a reminder that the Lord sees His servants even when they feel alone. Paul's eighteen months in Corinth produced a church that would receive two of his most important letters. God may be calling you right now to stay steady and rooted somewhere, trusting that depth of commitment bears more fruit than constant movement.

"But as he left, he said, “I will come back to you if God is willing.” And he set sail from Ephesus."
Paul's simple phrase 'if God wills' reflects a life surrendered to divine direction rather than personal agenda. It is a model of humility and trust — making plans while holding them loosely before the Lord. This posture of open-handed obedience is one the Holy Spirit invites you to practice in every decision, big or small.

"And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him in and explained to him the way of God more accurately."
Apollos was eloquent and zealous, yet he was still incomplete in his understanding — and he was humble enough to receive correction from a married couple in a private, gracious setting. This verse challenges you to remain teachable no matter how much you already know, and to offer truth to others with the same gentleness Priscilla and Aquila showed. Both giving and receiving correction in love are marks of spiritual maturity.

Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for the reminder in Acts 18 that You speak to Your people in their discouragement and never leave them to face opposition alone. Give me the courage to keep going when resistance tempts me to be silent, and surround me with faithful companions who sharpen and encourage my faith. Make me humble enough to keep learning, and generous enough to come alongside others who are still growing in You. In Jesus name, Amen.
