Isaiah 62:4 (ESV)
"You shall no more be termed Forsaken, and your land shall no more be termed Desolate, but you shall be called My Delight Is in Her, and your land Married, for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married."
Old names rooted in shame and abandonment are stripped away here and replaced with names that declare belonging and delight. "On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have set watchmen; all the day and all the night they shall never be silent. You who put the Lord in remembrance, take no rest, and give him no rest until he establishes Jerusalem and makes it a praise in the earth."
God appoints intercessors who pray with holy relentlessness, reminding us that persistent prayer is not a sign of doubt but of deep faith and partnership with God. You are called to be someone who holds God to His promises, not because He forgets, but because prayer is how you participate in what He is doing. Isaiah 62:12 (ESV)
"And they shall be called The Holy People, The Redeemed of the Lord; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken."
The chapter closes with God sealing the identity of His people with four powerful names: Holy People, Redeemed of the Lord, Sought Out, and Not Forsaken. The name 'Sought Out' is especially personal — it means God actively pursued you, that you were not stumbled upon but intentionally found. This is the gospel in a name: you were lost, and He came looking for you.
